This handcrafted,originally designed jewelry is made from an incredible glass called "Dichroic". Dichroic glass originally developed as an optical color filtering process -
used in computers and camera filters. It is also currently used on astronaut space suit visors.

"Dichroic" means "two chromas"- thus this incredibleglass will transmit one color and reflect another, while often causing subtle shifts of color in between. It is then fused in a glass kiln-sometimes several times- until the right look is achieved. The end result of this fusion creates a dynamic piece of high fashion jewelry with vibrant clarity.

Depending on the kiln heat, the glass will shift in color at different heat levels, thus exact
replicas of previously fired kiln jewelry may be impossible. However, wearers are assured
of a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art. Gretchen creates all pieces; there are no assistants.

Each glass jewelry piece is fused with several dichroic colors and may be individually wrapped
in sterling silver or 14K gold filled wire, embellished with pearls, Bali silver, or fused so that a chain will slide through the glass.

Pieces are created into pins, earrings, or pendants. Most designs are very freeform and organic,
yet mysterious with the floating depth and sparkle of the color.
All pendants are sold with a black silk cord, but may be worn with sterling silver or gold chains.
