| DeVonne Schuett creates unique soft
sculptures for every season. One-of-a-kind Santas, Pilgrims, snowpeople,
garden ladies, quilt ladies, nurses, granny angels, fisherpeople, golfers,
witchers, plus cats, bunnies and lapel pins are among her most popular
creations. The figures range in size from 5inches to 23 inches.
The whimsical creations are painstakingly
painted in her Grand Island studio using techniques she has developed through
exploration and creativity. The gessoed canvas pieces are stuffed with
poly-fil and have a wood base.
DeVonne's grandchildren often make
the "eyeglasses". The birds that adorn most of the pieces are sculpted
from oven-fire clay and are one of the trademarks of signed and dated artwork.
DeVonne's artwork has been displayed
and sold in national mail order catalogs, fine gift shops, museum gift
shops and art galleries in 38 states, Canada and the Cayman Islands.
She was among twenty vendors selected by QVC to represent Nebraska with
her artwork. |
