Dick
is a "plein aire" artist whose paintings communicate the moods and seasons
of nature. He agrees with Winslow Homer that a painting should "give
us witness to beauty." Dick is equally inspired by majestic mountain
scapes and the intimacy of the colorful flowers of his own garden.
Dick
paints primarily in oil, using a traditionally representational style,
but is a gifted watercolorist, sculptor, jewelry designer and teacher.
He earned a degree from Eastern New Mexico University and studied with
Wilson Hurley and Clyde Aspevig. He is a member of Oil Painters of
America and has exhibited in invitational and juried shows and galleries
throughout the Southwest. His work has been acquired by banks, public
institutions, corporations and private collectors around the world.
Prairie
Winds Art Center welcomes Dick Winberly as 2005 Miniature Show Judge and
Workshop Instructor.
